Three Depths of Assessment
Most clients don’t need every kind of review. These are the three levels, from widest to most detailed.
1. Security risk assessment: the whole operation
A physical walkthrough looks at the building. A risk assessment also looks at procedures, past incidents, staffing patterns and the exposure that comes with your industry, and then ranks what matters most.
It is often the right starting point before committing to a larger security program, because it shows which investments (cameras, staffing, access control) will actually reduce risk and which would be spending without a clear return.
2. Physical security assessment: walking the facility
A physical security assessment walks the property in person to find real, specific weak points: entry points, perimeter, lighting, blind spots in camera coverage and gaps in access control. It is done on foot rather than from blueprints, because a generic checklist doesn’t account for how a building is actually used.
A long list of every possible improvement isn’t useful on its own. Findings are ranked by how much risk each one represents, so a facility manager with a limited budget knows what to address first and what can reasonably wait.
3. Vulnerability assessment: down to the hardware
A vulnerability assessment goes deeper on specific entry points. A door can look secure and still have hardware that doesn’t match the risk, such as a residential-grade lock on a commercial back entrance, or a camera angled just enough to miss the approach it is meant to cover.

Who Does the Assessment
Hub Security and Investigative Group was founded in 2004 by police officers, and its leadership has over 75 years of combined experience in law enforcement, loss prevention and private investigations. Assessments are done by Hub’s own people. Hub does not use subcontractors.
The company holds a security agent license: Private Detective Firm License #LP0203L, held since 2004 and licensed through the Massachusetts State Police Certification Unit. It covers both security and private investigation work. Hub carries $3 million in general liability insurance and works only in Massachusetts.
If Guard Coverage Comes Next
An assessment sometimes shows that a site needs officers on post. When it does, the planning is already half done. Before the first shift, we walk the property with you, photograph the entrances and check-in points, and put them into a post-orders book that stays on site, so every officer, including a relief officer covering one night, works from the same instructions.
On their rounds, officers scan checkpoints at the doors. Each scan records that the spot was walked and the time. Hub writes site-specific post orders for its own client sites and has reviewed post orders from dozens of commercial and residential properties, so if you already have a set, we can work from it and point out the gaps.
Coverage doesn’t have to be year-round. It can be set up for a season or a single event.
